In patch 1.2 (rumored to drop on 5/10/11) Telara will be introduced to Slivers, the first of which is Gilded Prophecy. For those of you unaware, Slivers are the 10 man raids coming to Rift. Trion has decided to make lOman raiding viable in Rift, /applause
At this time there is limited information out there about Slivers, but I am sure more will be made available as we get closer to release. Here is what we know so far.
It will cost 25,000 planarite (one time cost) to gain the ascended power Omen ‘ Sight (Guardian) or Quantum Sight (Defiant). This ability will allow the player to see the actual Slivers.
- 10 Man raiding will have its own progression but the difficulty will be on par with the current 20 man content.
- Slivers will maintain the same lockout period as 20 man raids – 7 days.
- Lore – The fight in the first Sliver will be against the Goldenmaw
So far this is all the information I have found on the new 10man raid system. It is nice to have some information but having so little leaves me with some questions.
Logic tells me that Omen/Quantum Sight is player specific. This would mean that only the person with the ability can locate and zone into a Sliver. Once this person zones in, the rest of the party would be summoned like normal.
I wonder if 10man loot will be equivalent to 20man loot or are we looking at the Wrath nightmare of raiding all over again. In WotLK people were raiding both 10 and 25 mans because of gear imbalance. I really hope someone at Trion is bright enough to avoid this mess. I hate feeling forced into raiding 20 man raids.
The introduction of Slivers gives me a clearer picture on my path through Telara. I fully plan on exploring all of the current 10man content as well as the new stuff coming to the game. Up until this point I feel like I have been stumbling towards end game content, it is nice to have some direction.
