So patch 1.5 finally brings Rift Addons to the mix.
There are many people who have been counting down the days for this to happen and there have been others who have hoped this day would never come. No matter which side you are on, Rift addons are here. Curse does a good job of a basic introduction to Rift addons, so with that said, enjoy!
Today is an exciting day for RIFT players: the highly anticipated patch 1.5 is here! In addition to amazing new content updates including a new warfront and a master dungeon mode, patch 1.5 will also introduce addon capability to live servers for the first time!
Rift Addons can help players reorganize their UIs in innovative and helpful ways, adding the sort of functionality they’ve always hoped for! The features they add give the players who use them an edge in all areas of gameplay.
Curse is the place to be for all your RIFT addon needs! Simply add RIFT to your games on the Curse Client (Tools > Add a game) and browse through a host of RIFT addons! When it’s time to update the Rift addons, the Curse Client makes it easy with integrated update features and a convenient “Update All” button for premium users!
In addition to Curse Client integration, RIFT addons can also be found at Curse’s portal for RIFT, found at Rift.Curse.com. There are already all kinds of RIFT addons available through Curse! Currently, some of the most popular addons include:
- ADTimer: a DoT timer that helps players keep track of the durations of their damage over time spells.
- BossReady: adds a frame to UIs that displays the health and mana of players in a raid or group.
- RecastBox: adds bars that allows players to keep track of their abilities that are on cooldown.

With Rift Addons being so new the choices are a bit limited at the moment. I am sure this will change once the addon writers embrace this new option. I have to be honest and admit I have been wanting a decent addon for my bags. I may have been dreading Rift Addons but since they are here, I might as well make the most out of them.
