Recently we had a few guildies decide to jump ship. They pulled the classic leave in the middle of the night move, I imagine it was to avoid drama. Here is a hint it never stops the drama, it just allows the person quitting to not have to face those they are leaving. No it is not about drama, if you have to scurry off like a rat in the night you are either a coward or you know you are wrong.
Now one of the people leaving decided that they would post a rather unintelligible post about why they were leaving. Through the mess of text that had no semblance of sentence structure or punctuation there was a few words strung together that caught my eye. I quote them here “it dosent feel good to read a blog about how whinny you are.” Now being the only one in the guild with a blog I think it is safe to assume that these words were meant for me.
Unfortunately for RAYNE he made an assumption that my previous post included him or the others that left. His assumption being that when I mentioned the guild I was afraid or hesitant to name names. Heads up partner I am never afraid to name names. If I have something to say to someone I say it. Not only will I tell them but then yeah I will write about it as well. Believe me when I write about someone they know I am writing about them. They never have to guess or assume that my words are about them.
When it comes to making my point and naming names “I ain’t never scared.” I don’t have to wait till the dead of night to make my moves.

“Here is a hint it never stops the drama”
I’ll definitely heed that hint – it’s pretty clear from this post that you know a thing or two about drama!
“…if you have to scurry off like a rat in the night you are either a coward or you know you are wrong”
I disagree with this statement. Often, the people leaving have plenty of valid reasons why and would simply prefer to avoid complicating things unnecessarily over a video game.
@Drama – I have seen more than I care to admit.
@Frosty – meh – On this one we will have to agree to disagree. How is WoW treating ya?
Could be better – still looking for the right guild, biding my time till KoTOR.
In what I hope is actually a rare situation… I have left a guild in the middle of the night to avoid drama. Not because I did anything wrong, but because the guild environment turned into a very hostile one with someone’s control-freak of a mother busting everyone’s chops, and the guild leader being unwilling to bring the situation under control. Rather than bring up the subject (again) with the leadership, to have it rebuffed as it had several times, I simply packed my bags and slipped out the back door.
Had I done it while others were online, I anticipated extending my ignore list and having to deal with burning bridges that I’d rather just let disappear because I knew they wouldn’t follow up on it. (I’d watched them basically badger any person who decided to leave while they were online, and then proceed to make the guild chat about that person and why the guild was better off without them for the next hour or more.)
In some cases, hopefully rare, going out the back door is the best escape from a bad situation that can’t be fixed by addressing it directly. Some arguments are REALLY not worth having.
